Forest Growth
In additon to long-term monitoring plots dendrochronological data provide
the basis for an analysis of growth behaviour under various conditions. The
analysis of radial increment behaviour of various tree species taken from all
over Austria illustrates the remarkable increase in increment during the last
100 years.
The fertilisation experiments layed out between 1963 and 1971 have been
evaluated in the meantime. The monitoring plots established recently in order
to support the research projects mentioned below will provide results on the
studied problems only during the next few years.
- Growth study on Norway spruce without intra-species competition (P/5/9)
- One-clone-experiment with Norwary spruce
(P/5/23)
- Studies to compare the effects of natural regeneration versus clearcutting
systems (P/5/24)
